THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DUOLINGO APPLICATION IN HELPING STUDENTS AT MAN 3 MEDAN IN LEARNING ENGLISH VOCABULARY

This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the Duolingo application in helping students learn English vocabulary. This research uses a survey method. The sample of this research is the students of class XI MIPA 3/4/5 MAN 3 Medan in the academic year 2021/2022. To collect data, the writer uses a questionnaire instrument (Google Form) which contains interview questions about the Duolingo application and a vocabulary mastery test obtained from the Duolingo application. The writer's findings reveal that the Duolingo application has a positive influence in helping students learn English vocabulary. In this case, it can be concluded that from the results of research on students of class XI MIPA 3/4/5 MAN 3 Medan for the academic year 2021/2022, the Duolingo application has fairly strong effectiveness in helping students learn English vocabulary.
