Abstract

The importance of the application of science, especially in the field of biology, further emphasizes the need to integrate practical experiments through practicum. One of the facilities that support biology learning at school, especially in carrying out practicum activities is a biology laboratory. Laboratories are needed in practicum activities, research on laboratory conditions in various cities in Indonesia tells the results of facilities and infrastructure and also diverse management. This research is descriptive research. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of laboratory suitability in its management. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar in the odd semester of the 2023 school year. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results showed that SMA Negeri 2 Pematang Siantar strongly agreed to do management in order to see changes in laboratory conditions. The percentage results obtained from giving a questionnaire are reaching an average percentage of 99.97% - 99.98%, laboratory management is needed so that the laboratory can be used as well as possible because laboratory management greatly encourages students' understanding of the learning material studied when doing a practicum.
