Abstract

One type of renewable energy that has been widely implemented is photovoltaic. This is because photovoltaics are an environmentally friendly energy source and are quite easy to implement. In principle, by converting sunlight energy into electrical energy, photovoltaics are a renewable energy source with low emissions. Until now, the sun is a very suitable new energy source in Indonesia because it is located on the equator and has a long dry season, for the HKBP Nommensen University PLTS itself, the average daily irradiance value during August 2023 was found to be 578.5 W/ m2 and the potential electrical power resulting from analytical calculations is 261.6 kW. From the results of this research, it was also found that the 618.9 kWp PLTS power utility ratio at HKBP Nommesnsen University can be considered still very good and efficient because it can reach 98.09% which was found on August 15 2023 and the value is compatible with steady state conditions in the range 2%. It was also found that the power utility value of daily irradiance was better than the monitoring power utility, the peak value of Ut 1 was in the range of 58.17% while for the peak utility of Ut 2 was in the range of 43.9%. This value can be used as a parameter to indicate that at the UHN Medan PLTS there are still processing and power usage problems both technically and systematically.
