Abstract

A qualified and skilled employee will help the business achieve its goals more smoothly. Employee performance can be influenced by a variety of factors, including motivation and work environment. The purpose of this study is to               determine the influence of motivation and work environment on employee performance at the Karibia Boutique Hotel, Medan. Performance is determined by the quality of work that an employee can accomplish while carrying out assigned duties and responsibilities. Various factors influence an employee's performance; two important factors to consider are the work environment and motivation. This research is using quantitative research design and IBM SPSS V.25 application. The writer used descriptive and causal research. The sampling technique used is census sampling method. The population will be all of the employees of Karibia Boutique Hotel, Medan which is 76 employees. Based on the result of hypothesis test, motivation and work environment have influence on employee performance at Karibia Boutique Hotel, Medan, either partially or simultaneously. Moreover, motivation and work environment have 66%  influence on employee performance. This research also passed the validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear regression test which the equation is y = 8.504 + 0.372X1 + 0.455X2. In this research, writer recommended the hotel to focus on motivation, work        environment and employee performance in order to motivate employees to work comfortably and hotels are advised to hold regular training sessions that benefit both the hotel and the employees.
